Entrance of Meiji Jingu, which is said to be the most beautiful shrine of Tokyo. It's quite close to my house (like a 30min walk) and indeed offers some tranquility in the hectic daily life.
Just a typical concrete bridge in the Meiji park.
With the water here you should purify yourself before entering the shrine. Pour a little water over your one hand, then a little over the other, drink a bit and spit it out... now you may enter.
Central plaza of the temple complex.
A view at the Shinjuku skyscrapers from the Meiji park.
