The following pictures were taken by Kasper Smit and Werner Breitfuss, with whom I did some sightseeing in the Golden Week.

Monday we woke up at 5 A.M. and left at 5:30 for Tsukiji: The fishmarket.

Lots of frozen tuna, up to 1.5m are sawn and cut into smaller pieces and sold.

Lots of shrimps and shellfish are available as well...

and lots of octopuses and squids...

seaweed...

and lots of more "normal" fish

With all the carts and vans it was sometimes a bit difficult (and dangerous) to cross the road in front of the fishmarket.

After visiting the fishmarket we had some delicious sushi. This time we paid 3700 Yen (26 Euro) for just 10 sushis instead of the 1500 Yen for 20 in the restaurant in Kamakura. That is why we dared to try some ika (squid) and tago (octopus), which are normally very chewy or even cartilage/bone-like.
